Philips 1963 experimental colour
television camera test at the BBC
In the early 1960s the BBC, like most broadcasters, were considering what
colour system and cameras to use for the future.
This picture shows the Philips camera with a Marconi BD848
3 I.O. tube camera behind, undergoing comparative tests in Lime Grove
studio H (probably spring 1964?).

There is a BBC research department report No.
T-132
dealing with the comparisons between different colour cameras.
