In the early 1960s the BBC, like most broadcasters, were considering what colour system and cameras to use for the future.
This picture shows the Philips camera with a Marconi BD848 3 I.O. tube camera behind, undergoing comparative tests in Lime Grove studio H (probably spring 1964?).

There is a BBC research department report No. T-132 dealing with the comparisons between different colour cameras.
