BBC Colour Balance panel PA6/99B.

These were specially designed for use in the BBC Type 5 outside broadcast vehicles in conjunction with the LDK5 cameras. The idea being that the vision supervisor could quickly correct the colour of the camera being monitored. The "colour wheels" used optical encoders and just sent updates to the selected camera and when the next camera was selected, the absolute position of the colour wheels was unimportant, just changes being sent if the wheels were moved.

This design was very easy to used and it was later adopted by Thompson and others as a manufactured option.

An explanation of the number "PA6/99B/011", this is the BBC equipment department numbering scheme, PA being "panel" 6/99B being the version of panel (there were a lot of panels!!) and 011 is the serial number of the panel.
