1934 RCA experimental Iconoscope Television Camera

1934 RCA experimental Iconoscope Television Camera and tube
Here is the camera with the covers open, the three stage video amplifier with a low impedance output stage is in the lower right corner. Above it is the bulb of the iconoscope tube. The viewfinder, folded down to the right, offers a direct view of the iconoscope tube's mosiac reflected in the mirror that can be seen at the top of the camera.

It is said that during operation the cameraman had to keep his head in the viewfinder hood to prevent stray light entering!
