Ist Generation CCD camera from 1983, it was demonstrated at NAB 1983 and production models were available from 1984.

The CCD-1S sports model has a high speed shutter to give improved slow-motion recordings.

CCD cameras require close tolerance lenses with less aberrations than tube camera lenses, for instance you can't adjust out any variations in size with the scan amplitudes.
I understand the the lenses for the RCA CCD-1 were specially made.
