RCA TK-42x color camera

RCA TK-42x Television Camera with the side open.

The large cylinder in the lower part of the camera is the 4.5 inch Image Orthicon tube scanning yoke, the disk is the filter wheel and behind that is part of the complex light splitter. The three yokes for the colour tubes are above and the swing out panel has some of the many controls on it.

This experimental camera is described in a paper "Recent developments in color-television camera equipment" by H. N. Kozanowski and S. L. Bendall of RCA.
See also "Broadcasting", 19 March 1962 page 81.

The TK-42 was developed from the experience gained with this camera.
