Hitachi 2 inch Image Orthicon tube shipping case

The Hitachi tube in it's rather smart shipping case. I have said that it is vital that tubes are not held face down , lest the target is damaged by any remaining dust particles that might remain after manufacture.

The "Inversion detection" device for this box can be seen circled.

Not much is known about these tubes, data sheet? where were they used?
