Portable camera electronics pack

Link Electronics Television Camera type 120 Portable camera electronics pack

The Link 120 was of that early class of portable cameras that had an electronics pack. It had in it the electronics that would normally have been in the camera head, put simply it was a two box camera.

The electronics pack would connect to the CCU in the normal way.
Under pressure to produce a camera that could be carried by a man Link made the 120, other contemporary manufacturers produced similar "two box" arrangements like the Marconi Mk8P and the Philips LDK15.

The electronics unit "pack" could be carried on the cameraman's back or positioned locally. The Link 120 electronics unit shown above has one of the nicer ergonomic layouts and had a very good carrying frame.
