Pye Mk3 Television Camera turret control box

Pye Mk3 Television Camera turret control box

The Pye Mk3 was unusual, for the time, in having motor to rotate the turret and a servomotor drive to the focus system.

These were normally controlled at the camera, but it was possible to control both from the CCU end and this is the control box for that purpose.

It is quite simple just switches and a variable resistance for the focus control. The six indicator bulbs are miniature neon lamps as HT was used rather than a low voltage. On the back is a single EP8 connector.

The Iris control was already available on the CCU so with the use of this box, a locked off camera, could be fully controlled.
